Growth Mindset
In order to create joyful classroom we will work on having a growth mindset this year. We will learn that our brains can stretch like a rubber band! Together we will practice the mantra of the 'power of yet'.

Peace Corner
Our classroom has a special place where students that are feeling frustrated, sad or worried can go to calm down. In that area, students have reminders of activities they can do to help them feel at peace. I will guide students in learning techniques such as deep breathing, muscle squeeze and release, coloring/drawing, writing, talking to someone, and using fidgets. Guidance in these activities while students are calm and happy will help students to be able to utilize them while their emotions are running high.
Responsible Thinking Process
You may already be familiar with the Responsible Thinking Process and the Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC). Click here to read more about the process. We all have days that are harder than others. For children, those days can be hard to regulate our emotions and actions. The goal of RTC is to help students solve their problems, be successful at school and allow their peers to do the same.
